This is the Dashboard.
From the Dashboard you can access the Universal Quote Bar.
1. The Universal Quote Bar provides a snapshot quote.
2. The quote line is linked to the Quote widget.
The quote lookup field at the top of the trading tool has some distinctive features. Such as Universal Symbol Search. Anything in the platform that requires a symbol to present information will be hooked up to this symbol. So if you search for AAPL, any component or widget in the platform will show information for AAPL.
In the Universal Symbol Search field, start typing a company name or ticker and we will automatically show a drop down of the possible companies. This makes it easier and faster to find the symbol you’re looking for.
From the Dashboard you can also switch between linked accounts and access your virtual account.
When you first log in to your account, you’ll see the five tabs you are likely to use the most:
Additional information—such as news, quote tickers, watchlists, and the index monitor—is kept in “widgets” on the right-hand side.
Widgets are basically panes that run along the right-hand side of the platform. The “sidebar,” so to speak.
Expand and collapse widgets using the + / – .
Link and unlink widgets from the Universal Quote Bar using the chain link icon.
If you like, you can leave the platform settings in default mode and never make a change. But should you want to customize your OptionsHouse trading experience, you have ample choices at your disposal. In fact, there is virtually no limit to how you can tailor the trading tool. To begin, click “Change Layout”.
By clicking “Change Layout,” a window will appear that allows you to choose from a multitude of layouts.
You can load a component into each pane by selecting the drop-down menu (down arrow).
Each tab can be customized and renamed.
You can also access all components from the Quick Launch Bar.
Open window as default or launch into a new browser window.
Opening a window as default for a frequently used component allows for you to add a new button to the Tool bar for quick access using the minimize icon.
Left click on any blue link to get an action menu.
Open an Order Ticket from the Universal Quote Bar by clicking on the red S or blue B buttons.
Open an Order Ticket from the button at the bottom of the platform.
You can access Help, Settings, and Manage Accounts from the Toolbar.
