Question:

What is an “F share”?

Answer:

F shares are foreign ordinary shares. These shares trade on the OTC market and are unlisted securities. F shares can normally be identified as a five letter symbol ending in the letter “F”. Trades in these shares are reported in U.S. dollars, however they do have exposure to currency risk as these shares rise and fall based on the price of the company’s shares traded in their home county.
