How do I convert from a margin account to a cash account?

To convert from a margin account to a cash account, please submit your request via fax, letter, or email from the email address associated with your account to customerservice@optionshouse.com. Your request must contain the following pieces of information:

  1. The name(s) of the account holder(s)
  2. The last four digits of the social security number(s) of the account holder(s)
  3. The date(s) of birth of the account holder(s)
  4. The OptionsHouse account number

Please note the following:

  • All open orders will be cancelled.
  • The account may be restricted from trading while the type change is in process.
  • A margin account cannot be converted to a cash account if the account has any margin debit balances.
  • A margin account cannot be converted to a cash account if the account contains any positions unsuitable for a cash account (short positions, spreads, etc.)
  • A margin account cannot be converted to a cash account if the account has any open margin calls or restrictions.
    • Day trade calls must be met or expired.
    • Maintenance calls must be met.
    • Day Trade Minimum Equity calls must be met or a PDT reset must be requested.
    • Restrictions for multiple day trading calls must be satisfied or removed.
  • All funds & trades must be settled.
