How do I add margin to my account?

  1. Review and complete the Margin Account Agreement
  2. Fax to 312-284-4775, or scan and email to [email protected]
  3. Look for an email that your account has been upgraded. Typically, you’ll receive a decision within 24-48 hours.

Please note the following when applying for a margin account:

  • All open orders will be cancelled.
  • The account cannot have more than three open Good Faith Violations (GFVs).
  • The account may be restricted from trading while this change is in process.
  • A cash account cannot be converted to a margin account if the account is restricted due to too many Cash Substitution or Good Faith violations.
  • All funds and trades must be settled.
